Electric knife
Using an electric knife can make cutting meat go much
faster, but only if the knife is in good working condition. If you are
having problems with an electric knife, you may want to try some of
these solutions:
• Check the plug – It sounds simple, but the truth is that
one of the main problems people have with electric knives can be easily
solved simply by plugging it in properly.
• Unplug it – If it is plugged correctly, then unplug it.
When it is unplugged, closely inspect the blades. If they are bent,
carefully try to straighten them by applying pressure to them on a flat
surface. If they cannot be straightened, you may just need to replace
the blade.
• While the electric knife is still unplugged, locate the screws
on the back of the knife, remove them and open up the housing. You may
want to use a flathead screwdriver in order to pry the knife sections
apart. The blade retainers will likely fall out when the knife is opened,
so try to keep the knife over a table or countertop.
• Next, remove the screws that connect the motor and the drive
assembly to the housing case. Then lift the drive assembly and the motor
from the casing area. Look for signs of wear around the motor area of
the electric knife. You can test things out by slowly rotating the fan.
If the movement of the fan does not feel smooth, apply a little bit
of grease to lubricate. Make sure the grease is spread evenly by rotating
the fan a couple of times.
If, after all of this, the electric knife still does not work, then
it is probably time to invest in a new one.
